Flowers and Fairies: This vibrant painting showcases lively colors and enchanting patterns, capturing the whimsical beauty of flowers and fairies.
I’m honored to have this painting selected for exhibition at the Marin County Fair 2024 in San Rafael, California.
It took me about 10 months to complete this piece. I began it while on maternity leave, at eight months pregnant, never imagining that this painting would spark a newfound passion and ultimately shape my career.
Inspiration:
This artwork inspired me to create prints and place them on home accessories and clothing—marking the beginning of my shop! Each design has a unique name, and after photographing each pattern, I carefully refine it in Photoshop to make it digital-friendly for product use.
This painting represents the start of a new chapter in my life. It holds immense emotional value and personal meaning.
My baby girl, Hanna, was my inspiration. What began as a hobby during my pregnancy grew into something much more. After Hanna was born, I would often paint while she napped, using the process as a way to release my emotions. This painting became my mental escape, a quiet, meditative refuge as I adjusted to life as a first-time mom with a newborn.
When it was finished, I reflected on the profound impact painting has had on my life:
It has given me a voice—a way to express my inner world, to be seen. It has empowered me to encourage others to express themselves without fear of judgment. It’s okay to like what you like.
